Ralph Wilson Park Bridge Programming and Installation 

All eyes, locally and nationally, will be on Ralph Wilson Park as our iconic pedestrian bridge travels down the Erie Canal to the foot of Ralph Wilson Park, where it will be installed over the I-190 later this fall.   

The Ralph Wilson Park Conservancy is leading a series of community events and initiatives designed to engage residents across our region and beyond. Your support will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of these initiatives spanning from mid-June to the installation of the Ralph Wilson Park Bridge in mid-October 2024, and beyond. 

First Phase: Ralph Wilson Park Bridge Arrival Celebration est. July 16, 2024 

  • Event 1: Community Watch Parties (9am) 
    • Follow @RalphWilsonParkBridge on its journey down the Erie Canal with press opportunities at every stop.  
    • Celebrate 716 day with Buffalo by welcoming the iconic Ralph Wilson Park Bridge on its last leg of its journey down the Niagara River before it docks at Ralph Wilson Park. Join the Seneca Chief, the Edward M. Cotter fireboat, and a Celtic Bag Pipe Band to mark this historic event. 
  • Event 2: Press Conference welcoming the Ralph Wilson Park Bridge (10am)  
    • Ralph Wilson Park Conservancy will coordinate a major press conference and event including, state and national dignitaries and partners, as well as the Imagine LaSalle group that drove the community vision for Ralph Wilson Park.   
  • Event 3: Sunset Cruise Fundraiser of the Ralph Wilson Park Shoreline and Bridge
    • Join the Ralph Wilson Park Conservancy team and partners on a 2-hour sunset cruise to catch a once-in-a-lifetime view of the transformation of the Ralph Wilson Park Shoreline and a sneak people of the Ralph Wilson Park Bridge. Corporate sponsorship details here

Second Phase: Community Engagement Programs – Build the Momentum (July – October) 

  • Youth Engagement + Educational Programs: Activities and events designed to inspire and engage young minds, fostering a sense of ownership and pride in their local environment. We will push into summer camps and programming, and work with the Buffalo Public Schools and Buffalo Architecture Foundation to reach students in-school beginning this fall.  
  • Brews + the Ralph Wilson Park Bridge: Four-Part happy hour series at a local brewery aimed at educating the community about the history, architecture, and environmental significance of Ralph Wilson Park and our iconic new bridge.  

Third Phase: Bridge Installation Celebration (Early October) 

  • Art + Architecture with the Buffalo AKG: Full day of programming, co-branded and co-designed with the Buffalo AKG. Includes educational programming for elementary and middle school students during the morning, for middle and high school students in the afternoon, and a panel discussion open to the public in the evening featuring MVVA, UBRI, the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation, and others. 
  • Connecting Buffalo – Ralph Wilson Park Bridge Reception + Fundraiser: Following the day of programming, Ralph Wilson Park Conservancy will host a public reception in the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Town Hall at the Buffalo AKG followed by an intimate celebration (fundraiser) nearby. 
  • Bridge Installation Watch Party: Ralph Wilson Park Conservancy will coordinate a private watch party for community leaders, dignitaries, and media. 
  • Bridge Installation Press Conference: The day after the Ralph Wilson Park Bridge is installed, Ralph Wilson Park Conservancy will coordinate a press conference with local, state and national elected officials and community leaders to be covered by local and national media.

We offer a range of sponsorship levels, each with unique benefits such as: 

  • Platinum Sponsor: Prominent logo placement at all public events and all promotional materials, including on shoreline during harbor cruise, as well as social media channels, speaking opportunities at events, logo placement on signage at events, and targeted media coverage. Includes 20 tickets to 7/16 Sunset Cruise. [$50,000-$75,000] 
  • Gold Sponsor: Logo placement at all public events and all promotional materials, including on shoreline during harbor cruise, and select promotional materials, social media channels, acknowledgment in press releases, and recognition during events. Includes 10 tickets to 7/16 Sunset Cruise.  [$25,000-$50,000] 
  • Silver Sponsor: Recognition on our website and social media channels, and acknowledgment during events. Includes 10 tickets to 7/16 Sunset Cruise. [$15,000-$25,000] 
  • Bronze Sponsor: Recognition on our website and acknowledgement during events. Includes 5 tickets to 7/16 Sunset Cruise. [$5,000 – $15,000]
