The Ralph Wilson Park Bridge traveled from Italy, across the Atlantic Ocean, through New York City harbor and across New York state via the Erie Canal in June and July, arriving in Buffalo on July 16 – 716 Day! (For those not familiar with 716 Day, 716 is our area code so the date is well celebrated!). Thousands of people came out across the state to celebrate the journey along the Erie Canal, and witness the iconic bridge traveling in four parts on two barges, pulled by a tug.
